Her Story
About Leah
Leah Nitz owns and operates Divine Design Staging, a home staging business she founded and has run successfully for 8 years. She earned a bachelor's degree in business management from WGU around 2014 while working, along with a project manager certification from UW Tacoma and an HSR staging certification. Nitz maintains memberships in HSR, RESA, and Beta Sigma Phi, where she participates in volunteer efforts such as assembling birthday bags for a local helpline and collecting toys for Toys for Tots. She credits her success to the strong work ethic and support modeled by her mother and grandmother. Nitz emphasizes client convenience in her work, ensuring staging services are seamless, and she advises aspiring professionals to obtain training beforehand and approach problems with solutions in mind. Her business faces challenges from eDesign trends and the need to frequently update inventory for styles like rustic elegant.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Leah
01What do you attribute your success to?
I come from a long line of stubborn women. I was taught from a very young age a strong work ethic. I had really good role models like my mom and grandma who showed support for family pursuing their passions.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Having a business coach helps you win exponentially by looking at things differently and providing accountability. Also, when bringing a problem, always bring at least two solutions.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Get training before you really get started because that answers so many questions. If there's a problem, start looking for solutions right away.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
EDesign is impacting the business as it's less expensive but doesn't consider dimensions or fit, and buyers can't visualize. Also, trends like rustic elegant require updating inventory frequently which is costly.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Making it as convenient and seamless as possible for clients so they don't have to do extra work. Caring about clients and doing work that is my passion.
