About Leah

Leah Petri is a broker associate and luxury real estate professional with Moreland Properties in Austin, Texas. She has 16 years of experience in the field since beginning in 2010 and leads the Petri Group, a sales team generating approximately $100 million annually with eight members. Her practice focuses on complex transactions in Austin's high-end market, including waterfront properties, ranches, lake houses, private sales, new construction, and relocation clients across Central Austin and Westlake to the Hill Country. Prior to real estate, she spent 12 years in high tech at Dell, which informs her data-driven approach to client service. She holds a GRI designation, a broker's license in addition to her real estate license, and has earned 5-Star Professional recognition for eight consecutive years along with awards from the Austin Business Journal and Elite 25 Austin. Leah Petri emphasizes building lifelong client relationships, with 56 percent of her transactions coming from repeat or referral clients.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Leah

01What do you attribute your success to?

Perseverance, attitude, grit and grace.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

There is enough business to go around, don't get down on the ones you don't get.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Getting a mentor in the business is really critical. I wish I had started off as a power broker's assistant to earn a small salary and touch a bunch of different files under high-producing agent's tutelage. I continue to mentor younger agents as I was mentored, and find it important to work it both ways as you get just as much from your mentee.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

AI and social media are a challenge and an opportunity at the moment. Good inventory in the areas I serve is a challenge. Interest rates are a challenge for some buyers.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Making people feel comfortable and valued and included. That extends to family, co workers and clients.
