Leah Whitman
Leah Whitman is a real estate investor, financial coach, and former corporate executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience in enterprise sales and business consulting. She built her career at IBM, where she held multiple senior client executive and leadership roles, consistently ranking as a top performer and earning recognition in the top 1% of the organization. Her background spans complex enterprise sales, strategic consulting, and executive relationship management across industries including high tech, retail, and communications.
After a successful corporate career, she transitioned into real estate investing in 2013 and developed a diversified portfolio of residential and investment assets across multiple U.S. states. Through her experience with single-family rentals, duplexes, land investments, and advanced strategies such as 1031 exchanges, BRRRR investing, and asset-backed lending, she built a system for generating passive income and long-term wealth. This approach enabled her to retire from corporate America in 2021 and achieve financial independence through what she describes as a principle-based wealth-building framework.
Today, she serves as a Money Mastery Coach with Wealth Outside Wall Street, where she mentors individuals seeking financial freedom through real estate investing and alternative wealth strategies. Her coaching focuses on helping clients build cash-flowing assets, optimize tax strategies, and develop systems for financial independence within a defined timeline. She is committed to empowering others to take control of their financial futures, emphasizing education, disciplined execution, and long-term wealth creation outside traditional financial systems.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a strong work ethic, discipline, and the mindset I developed during my 30-year career in corporate America at IBM. I was fortunate to build a foundation of leadership experience, problem-solving skills, and high-performance execution. My success was also driven by my willingness to take action, implement systems early in real estate investing, and fully commit to learning how to build financial independence.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to take ownership of my financial future and understand that traditional systems of retirement are changing. I learned that where and how you invest your money matters significantly, and that financial freedom comes from making informed, intentional decisions rather than relying solely on conventional paths.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women to understand that there are new rules of money and wealth creation today. It’s important to educate yourself early about investing, cash flow, and financial systems outside of traditional retirement plans. Taking action, learning continuously, and building assets that generate income are key steps toward long-term financial freedom and independence.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity in my field is the ability to create financial freedom faster than ever through real estate, tax strategy, and passive income systems. The challenge is that many people are still relying on outdated financial models and do not fully understand how to leverage modern investing strategies to build wealth efficiently and sustainably.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values to me are financial independence, freedom of choice, and empowerment through education. I also value action, discipline, and service—helping others take control of their financial future and design lives that align with their goals rather than limitations imposed by traditional systems.
