Leeanna Kersey, AINS, AIS

Leeanna Kersey, AINS, AIS, is a seasoned insurance professional with more than 25 years of experience in the commercial insurance industry and over two decades specializing in underwriting. She currently serves as Tribal Underwriter and Marketing Communications Lead at Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, Inc., where she manages a specialized book of business dedicated to Tribal Nations. In this role, Leeanna oversees account quality, broker relationships, and underwriting strategy while also leading marketing and tribal initiatives in collaboration with creative and business development teams. Her technical expertise spans complex coverage lines including General Liability, Property, Automobile, Tribal Workers’ Benefits, Excess, and specialty coverages tailored to sovereign governments, gaming operations, and tribal enterprises. Leeanna’s career began immediately after high school with Nationwide Insurance, where she spent more than 24 years progressing through increasingly senior underwriting roles across multiple U.S. regions. In 2024, she made a pivotal career transition to focus exclusively on tribal insurance—a highly specialized space that requires both a precision and cultural awareness. At Arrowhead, she combines deep underwriting knowledge with relationship building, education, helping brokers and clients navigate the unique needs for Tribal Nations. Known for her strong organizational skills, negotiation ability, and disciplined desk management, Leeanna plays a key role in driving profitable growth while maintaining high underwriting standards. Beyond underwriting, Leeanna is a collaborative, “jack-of-all-trades” contributor who supports teammate onboarding, conference engagement, LinkedIn marketing and networking, blog development, and broader Native American insurance initiatives. She is actively involved in company programs focused on mental health and diversity, reflecting her people-first leadership philosophy. Recently nominated for Arrowhead’s “Unimaginably Effective GSD” recognition, Leeanna considers her most meaningful accomplishment to be the courageous decision to realign her career with purpose-driven work that serves tribal communities with insurance solutions. Outside of work, she enjoys Ohio State football, hiking, traveling, fitness, and spending time supporting her children—bringing the same energy, dedication, and balance to her personal life that define her professional success.
