Her Story
About Lenita
I've been with Illumine for around 10 months now, starting as Director of School Success and just recently promoted to Head of Growth Marketing about a week ago. My role is beautifully different every single day. I handle social media branding, host webinars, and create opportunities to connect with other leaders in the early educational space, really providing solutions to promote success and talk about subjects that are needed in 2025 regarding the hardships that early childhood is going through and how we can work on creating solutions. One day I might be focused on marketing and social growth and virtual webinars, another day I could be traveling, going to a school, coaching a team, and another day I'm working internally with our Illumine team to ensure that we are creating a product for the future. I started off years ago as an assistant myself, so I try to utilize that testimony of all the positions I was in in this current role as we build this product out. I've walked in the shoes of teachers, floaters, owners, and directors, and I understand every piece of the puzzle within the ECE space. What brings me the most joy is being able to see schools transform from just struggling with their day-to-day to being positioned for success in the years to come. I'm passionate about being a voice for the little people, for those small town owners, directors, and teachers who either don't have the fiscal support to hire a full-on team or don't have the opportunity to go to events. I've helped schools like Junior Bears Early Learning Center, Rockridge Montessori, and Little Garden Montessori transform their operations.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I believe that knowledge is power and that it's very important to grow ourselves in order to grow other people. In my work, I'm driven by being able to plant seeds and coach and train people in the ECE space and watching them succeed. I've been able to coach and train future leaders that are now directors and owners themselves in the span of my career, and I think that's one of the most valuable things. What brings me the most joy is seeing schools transform from struggling with their day-to-day operations to being positioned for success in the years to come. I'm passionate about being a voice for the little people, for those small town owners, directors, and teachers, helping the schools that need it the most because they either don't have the fiscal support to hire a full-on team or don't have the opportunity to go to events. I want to make note that I work with everyone, but one of my personal joys is helping the schools that need it the most.
