The best career advice I’ve ever received, from my doctoral mentor Dr. Ashley Riebel, is to never give up on your goals, remain resilient, embrace constructive criticism, apply it, and keep moving onward and upward, because there is always room for growth and advancement.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this field is to be persistent, consistent, and resilient, actively seek mentors, and use practical strategies and frameworks to balance school, work, and family to successfully complete higher education.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field are balancing school with work, childcare, and life events, as well as managing the anxiety when plans slip, while opportunities include expanded networking and third-party recognition that validate and amplify your work.

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are resilience, persistence, helping others—especially students—and empowering women.
