Leslie Hicks

Leslie Hicks is a dedicated Loan Advisor at Freedom Mortgage, licensed in multiple states and specializing in VA and FHA loan products. With approximately two years in the mortgage industry and six years of experience in sales, Leslie brings both financial expertise and a client-focused approach to her work. She transitioned from a background in journalism and the fine wine and spirits industry to mortgage finance during the COVID-19 pandemic, following a move from California to Florida. In her current role, Leslie manages loan portfolios, contacts clients, and educates borrowers, particularly those using FHA and VA loans, on rate reduction opportunities. One of her recent professional milestones includes closing 11 loans in a single month, reflecting her dedication and exceptional service.

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism with honors from California State University Sacramento, Leslie blends her communication skills with analytical precision to simplify complex mortgage processes. Her background as a culture writer, authoring a concert column for a Fort Lauderdale publication, allows her to connect deeply with clients and tailor solutions to meet their needs. Her day-to-day responsibilities include extensive client communication, overseeing loan processing, and guiding borrowers through the intricacies of mortgage financing. Outside of her professional work, Leslie enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, kayaking, and engaging in other outdoor activities. She is currently painting a mural with a tropical goddess theme, showcasing her creative side. Leslie is also passionate about giving back, having contributed to causes such as St. Jude, women’s shelters, and veterans’ support, and she hopes to increase her volunteer efforts in the future, particularly in food and housing support.
