Outside of work, she serves in her local church ministry, sings at nonprofit outreach events, and advocates for autism awareness and resources.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Leslie
01What do you attribute your success to?
My children are my driving force along with resilience from being a breast cancer survivor and my faith in God. I had an inner resilience to continue reaching my goals while navigating treatments, being a mom, and working. I learned to remove timelines and enjoy the journey.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
You are your brand. Regardless of where you are in your career, always remember that you are your brand. Let your work ethic be a reflection of your brand and how you engage with people.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Do not be intimidated especially in the male-dominated manufacturing field. Walk in the room full of confidence, do not shrink. Trust the knowledge you have studied and prepared for, trust God within you, and own the room.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Leveraging AI is both a challenge and opportunity. There is fear AI will take jobs but learning to use it opens opportunities for more analytics and helping decision makers grow the business instead of manual tasks.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is number one whether work or personal so people know they can trust you and your work is credible. I am also very empathetic caring about my team not just the work but personally because if people are suffering in personal life it reflects in professional life.
