I've been working in communication and mental fitness coaching for about 8 years now. Before this, I worked in marketing with my husband, and we ran our own businesses together. But I realized that while I was being a supportive, easy-going wife, I wasn't really speaking up and asking for what I needed or what I was feeling. I call it emotional weight - the heaviness you carry from keeping your silence. That's what led me to get training in NLP and become a Certified Positive Intelligence Coach. I was a people pleaser and a conflict-avoidant person, and I wanted to be able to find my voice and articulate what I'm thinking and feeling in the moment without fear, anxiety, or guilt. Now I help women who are doing the same thing - keeping their silence, not asking for what they feel and what they need. I coach women in pods of 5 through an 8-week program to help them release the emotional weight they carry from the unspoken words and be able to speak up in the moment. These are often very capable women who might be dynamite at work, leading teams and writing contracts, but at home they want to keep the peace and harmony, so they hold things in. Sometimes this transfers to their work life where they're not speaking up even though they have great ideas, holding back out of fear of being dismissed or shut down by their bosses. I want them to be able to speak up and say what they're thinking without the fear or guilt. Now I can do that myself, and I also feel 50 pounds lighter.
