Her Interview

Ten minutes with Leslie

01What do you attribute your success to?

Being resourceful and asking the right questions. Building cross-functional relationships across the organization and with external stakeholders is extremely important, because if I don't know the answer, I know who to reach out to for information. Building trust with those relationships is critical.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Asking for help is not a weakness. Learn to recognize when you need more resources, and ask for help. Advocating for yourself and what you need to succeed and to help your team succeed is important.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Prepare for job interviews with the approach that you're also interviewing them. Ask questions about culture and values to make sure they align with your own. As them what success looks like in the role. Finding the right fit and culture can take time but is definitely worth the effort.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is rapidly changing technology and systems, and finding the time in a busy schedule to learn how to use AI to increase productivity, for example.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Values that are important to me are trust, integrity, and open communication. These also happen to be core values of the company I work for.
