About Leslie
Leslie Tucker is a multifaceted creative professional specializing in skincare and handmade goods from her base in Henderson, North Carolina. After moving from Delaware, she launched her skincare business three years ago, producing and selling small-batch soap, body balm, lip balm, and lotions on the Whatnot live selling platform, where she has built a following of 24,000 and completed 24,000 sales including 14,000 bars of soap. She draws on her experience as a self-taught baker who began at age six and later earned ServSafe certification while working in 15 kitchens and six bakeries, incorporating natural ingredients like turmeric and lavender into her formulations for benefits such as addressing alopecia and acne. In addition, Tucker has operated as a crochet designer for 28 years, creating hats and other items, and she previously sold tie-dye and upcycled goods. A high school graduate from 1987 with some college credits, she attributes her success to finding work she can return to daily despite challenges and advises creatives to explore multiple passions before turning them into businesses. As a Whatnot community host who spoke at the WhatNot Summit before 600 attendees, she emphasizes values of self-care, family communication, community, and diversity in both her personal and professional life.
