Ten minutes with Leticia
01What do you attribute your success to?
My faith in God has been one of the greatest sources of strength throughout my life and career. It has helped me persevere through challenges and given me the confidence to keep moving forward, even when the path wasn't always clear.
One of the things I'm most proud of is that, despite not having a college degree, I have been able to build a successful and rewarding career through hard work, determination, and the experience I've gained along the way. After my mother passed away, I began working at a young age in my father's business. Because of those circumstances, I never had the opportunity to pursue a college education, but the lessons I learned through real-world experience became the foundation of my career.
When I entered the accounting profession, it was still largely male-dominated, and it could be challenging for women to advance. I feel fortunate to have worked with people who recognized my abilities and gave me opportunities to grow. Over the years, I've continued to learn, adapt, and take on new responsibilities.
What excites me most today is that I'm still growing professionally. The emergence of artificial intelligence is transforming the way we work, and I'm eager to learn how to leverage these new tools. I believe there is always something new to learn, and that mindset has served me well throughout my career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never stop learning, and take every opportunity to expand your knowledge, no matter what field you're in. Be curious, ask questions, and continue growing both personally and professionally.
There will be challenges along the way, but don't let them discourage you.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
First and foremost, you have to enjoy being challenged. In a family office, unexpected issues arise every day, and often there isn't the luxury of saying, "I'll handle it tomorrow." You need to be able to think quickly, solve problems in real time, and remain calm under pressure. Success in this field requires a diverse skill set. You have to be adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working with a wide range of professionals. Every day brings different responsibilities, and the ability to prioritize, communicate effectively, and make decisions quickly is essential. For anyone considering a career in a family office, I would encourage them to understand the variety of responsibilities involved and make sure they are passionate about that kind of dynamic environment. Most importantly, believe in yourself and don't give up—your determination and willingness to learn can take you farther than you ever imagined.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge currently is learning how to work effectively with AI. It is one of the most important skills professionals can develop today. The workforce has always evolved, but what makes this moment different is the speed of change. Technology is advancing at a pace we've never seen before, and those who embrace continuous learning will be best positioned for success.
AI isn't replacing the need for people—it is changing how we work. The key is learning how to leverage these tools to become more efficient, informed, and productive. At the same time, it's important to continue developing the human skills that technology cannot replace, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, adaptability, and relationship-building.
The professionals who will thrive are those who combine technical knowledge with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn. Building those capabilities now is what will make you invaluable in the workforce of the future.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, honesty, and gratitude are the values that guide me both professionally and personally. I believe they are the foundation of trust, meaningful relationships, and long-term success.
For me, leadership is about being authentic and treating people with respect—not simply focusing on results, but genuinely valuing the people you work with. I want those around me to feel appreciated, supported, and empowered to contribute their best work.
When people share a common goal and feel respected and valued, they become more engaged, collaborative, and inspired. Creating that kind of environment is important to me because it not only drives success, but also builds strong relationships that last.
