Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to two core traits: my willingness to embrace failure and my courage to ask for help. Leaning into discomfort, reaching out to more experienced professionals, and refusing to let titles intimidate me have allowed me to grow quickly in a male-dominated technical field. My career began in intelligence, where I developed strong analytical skills and a passion for understanding attacker behavior. Over the past few years, I transitioned into cybersecurity to gain deeper technical expertise, which ultimately led me into my current role as a Senior Corporate Sales Engineer at CrowdStrike. I consider my most notable professional achievement to be successfully moving into a highly technical sales engineering role despite not having a traditional technical background. I built this expertise through hands-on learning, persistence, and a willingness to dive into complex subjects without fear. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking Cajun food, especially jambalaya, and staying active through soccer—activities that help me maintain balance, creativity, and joy.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice for young women entering cybersecurity is to never be afraid to ask questions and to remember that no one knows everything, particularly in such a vast and rapidly evolving field. Embrace failure as part of the learning process—confidence grows through experience, not perfection. Stay curious, seek guidance, and lean into opportunities that challenge you, because growth often comes from stepping outside your comfort zone.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in cybersecurity today is the acceleration of AI-driven attacks, with malicious actors using AI to create malware, compromise systems, and automate attacks. At the same time, this presents a tremendous opportunity for those who remain curious and adaptable. By staying ahead of emerging threats and continuously learning, we can help shape how the industry responds to these advanced challenges.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value transparency, curiosity, and humility in both my professional and personal life. I believe real growth happens when people acknowledge what they don’t know, remain open to learning, and stay grounded in fast-changing environments like cybersecurity. One of my long-term goals is to elevate women in technical fields by increasing representation, mentorship, and visibility. I want to demonstrate that technical careers are accessible, achievable, and deeply rewarding—even for those who may not have started with a traditional technical background.
