Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lexi
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to state-funded programs like Gear Up in Washington state that provided career counselors and opened doors of possibilities. This sparked a hunger and motivation in me to achieve anything I could. Access to these programs combined with a full scholarship at UW drove my professional development and upskilling.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The biggest advice is not trying to do everything on my own. When starting out it can feel daunting and like you have to prove yourself, but people around you want you to succeed and want to help. Be vocal about what you want out of your career and vocalize that to people in roles you aspire to. Ask for help, take guidance, and seek mentorship because you can't do it all on your own.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is one of the most important values to me, along with perseverance. You can't have success without both of those. Integrity sometimes gets overlooked because it doesn't always have a direct impact, but it indirectly affects everything and determines if people trust you or want to work with you.
