Ten minutes with Lexi

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to staying curious, building meaningful relationships, and saying "yes" to opportunities that challenge me to grow. Public relations wasn't part of my original plan, but mentors encouraged me to pursue it, and that decision opened doors I never expected. I've learned that when you're willing to learn, work hard, and embrace new experiences with authenticity, each opportunity can lead to the next.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to "follow the opportunity." I've learned that careers rarely follow a straight path, and some of the best opportunities come from being open to unexpected experiences. Embracing change and being willing to pivot has helped me grow both personally and professionally, and it's a mindset I carry with me in every new opportunity.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to say yes to opportunities, stay curious, and never underestimate the value of building meaningful relationships. Don't be afraid to reach out to mentors, ask questions, and learn from people whose careers you admire. Every experience—even if it isn't exactly what you envisioned—can teach you something valuable and help shape your future in ways you may not expect.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in public relations is the chance to build meaningful relationships, tell impactful stories, and help organizations connect with their audiences in authentic ways. I've been fortunate to learn from strong female leaders who have shown me the value of mentorship, collaboration, and lifting others up. While challenges still exist in some industries, I believe building a strong network, speaking with confidence, and staying true to your values creates opportunities to grow and make a meaningful impact.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, authenticity, and genuine human connection are the values that guide both my work and personal life. I believe people are drawn to authenticity, and that honest relationships build stronger teams, better communication, and lasting opportunities. I also value giving back to my community and maintaining a healthy work-life balance, because I believe long-term success comes from making a positive impact while taking time to enjoy the moments that matter most.
