Her Story

About Leyla

Leyla Senel serves as a Personal Executive Assistant and in-house operations professional for a private family in San Francisco's Noe Valley neighborhood. With 14 years in the field, she began her career as a nanny while studying at the University of San Francisco and transitioned organically into family assistant and house manager positions before advancing to her current executive support role. She manages complex schedules, all travel logistics for her principal, vendor coordination, property maintenance, household operations, and calendar updates including school schedules for the family's children. Senel holds a BA in Advertising from the University of San Francisco, which she completed in 2014, and draws on strong organizational and client-service skills honed through work with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families in the Bay Area. She is an active member of Ease Makers and the Silver Swan San Francisco group, and she volunteers with Being a friend for the elderly by visiting homes to build relationships with residents.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Learning that no job is too big or too small. I make executive decisions based on empathy and compassion. I thrive under chaos like my mom did with five kids while running her beauty shop.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Continue to put your best foot forward. You're going to get knocked down but push through it and pick yourself back up. There's always going to be that one family or principal that sees you're a great asset. Just do it and prioritize quickly without overthinking.
