About Lilian

Lilian Aguilar is a seasoned property management professional with more than 18 years of experience in the industry. She began her professional career with a mortgage company in Los Angeles before transitioning into property management following the 2008 economic collapse. Throughout her career, she has developed extensive experience managing a variety of residential housing environments, including Section 8 housing, tax credit properties, affordable housing, and conventional properties. For approximately the past 14 to 15 years, her professional focus has centered on conventional property management. In her current role as a Property Manager, Lilian independently oversees a portfolio of approximately 120 residential units ranging from one to three bedrooms. Her responsibilities encompass leasing, contracts, and the day-to-day operational aspects of property management, while she also coordinates with a maintenance team to support the needs of the properties and residents she manages. In addition to her property management responsibilities, Lilian has experience in providing support in a development of training new colleagues in marketing and problem solving. Her ability to communicate effectively is further supported by her educational background in radio and television broadcasting, which has provided her with skills that translate naturally into property management, training, and professional communication. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Lilian contributes with her community through volunteer leadership at her church, where she serves as a co-leader and assists with public speaking activities. Her career reflects a combination of extensive property management experience, operational independence, communication skills, and a broad understanding of different housing environments. With her experience managing multi-tenant properties and her background in both mortgage and broadcasting, Lilian brings a diverse professional perspective to the property management field.

01What do you attribute your success to?

Over 18 years- Property Manager at Greystone Management Group Inc.

I set small goals and I also set bigger goals to see the full picture come together. I always think in concepts. Once I have it in my mind and heart I don’t give up until it is done.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I have not received much career advice.

I do have a quote I recite to myself whenever I’m feeling doubtful.

” I speak what I seek, until I see what I said”

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Absorb as much information as you can and do not be afraid to fail.

Be intentional with your words and actions. Set yourself apart from others by being an active listener and follow through. Be creative in your pursue to success.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges show up in many different forms, at this moment I see the market rents go up and down due to so much inventory. I believe in my product because every detail has been taken into consideration for our residents.
