Her Interview
Ten minutes with Liliana
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my upbringing in Mexico, where I experienced humble beginnings and witnessed my mother’s unwavering dedication as a single parent working tirelessly to provide a better life for my siblings and me. Her resilience, determination, and strong work ethic shaped my values and continue to inspire me every day. I carry those lessons with me by striving to create a meaningful legacy, overcome challenges with perseverance, and inspire others to pursue their own potential.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to remain open to learning and listening, regardless of someone’s background, nationality, or level of experience, because there is always something valuable to learn from others. I have also learned not to take work-related feedback or constructive criticism personally, but instead to view it as an opportunity for professional growth and improvement. This perspective has helped me remain receptive, adaptable, and focused on continuous development throughout my career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to always maintain your self-respect, pursue opportunities with confidence, and remain committed to continuous learning. Take the time to understand not only the work itself but also the people you work with, because strong relationships, collaboration, and teamwork are essential to long-term success. Invest in both your personal and professional growth, be willing to learn from others, and recognize that success is often shaped as much by the relationships you build as by the knowledge and skills you possess.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I face in my profession is learning to confidently say no when necessary and setting healthy boundaries so that I am not taken advantage of. I have learned that advocating for myself and protecting my time, energy, and well-being are essential to sustaining long-term success. It is important to remember that I cannot effectively support others or give my best when I have not taken care of myself first.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty, authenticity, and continuous personal growth. I strive to become the best version of myself while remaining true to who I am and treating others with integrity and respect. I also place a strong emphasis on effective communication, because I believe that listening, expressing myself clearly, and building genuine connections are essential to both personal and professional success.
