Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lilit
01What do you attribute your success to?
Everything started very slowly and gradually. Every year and every few years I try to do better and accept more challenge. I started as an estimator then moved to design of tenant improvements, apartments, shopping malls, warehouses. I never stopped learning and stayed in the industry because it was interesting.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Choose mechanical engineering as major because closely related to field. Visit the field to see what you design so everything makes sense and you make less mistakes.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Encourage anyone that likes construction to go in this field. It's challenging and interesting. Every day is different with new challenges. If you like that and are not stagnant, then you can major in this.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity. Never cheat or manipulate information. Be truthful as an engineer for public safety. As a person, never lie and be an honest person.
