Her Story
About Lilit
I have been in the field for 18 years. I finished my master's degree in 2020 at Loyola Marymount University after attending community college and earning my bachelor's at California State University, Northridge. I work in student services helping up to 30 students daily with questions, guiding them to the right departments based on my experience across multiple areas. As a first-generation student who didn't know English upon arriving in the US, I am proud to help students succeed in similar situations.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never give up. Continue achieving your goals and finish the journey. You will meet people who help you stay truthful to yourself. Networking is a big part of it. Be kind because classmates may become directors. Always remember your motivation for entering higher education.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges include competition with peers and technology. Opportunities are limited as some positions are being reduced, though there are always opportunities in different departments within Student Services.
