Her Interview
Ten minutes with Liliya
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the confidence I had in the beginning to just keep trying, which led to many cool opportunities. Also the people around me who push me, and especially my dad who got me into photography and whose camera I first started shooting on.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is to always try and submit for opportunities even with the fear of rejection, because if you never ask you might miss out, and even a no gives you a connection.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is breaking through because there are so many talented people in photography and film. It's also hard to make a living as many are willing to work for free, which makes it difficult to get paid for work.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Perseverance, keeping solid ground and confidence are most important. When starting out, believing I belong here despite little experience has given me so much experience now. Also the drive to go for what I want.
