Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lillian
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a lifelong sense of purpose and perseverance, beginning with a dream I held since I was eight years old. Although I chose to prioritize my former husband’s medical career for many years, I never lost sight of my own aspirations. After dedicating a significant part of my life to supporting that journey, I ultimately returned to my own passion at the age of 71, proving that it is never too late to pursue what truly fulfills you.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that it is never too late to build the life and career you truly love. At 71, I have proven this to be true by continuing to teach part-time while also growing my own business in a field I am passionate about. Success, to me, has come from embracing new opportunities at every stage of life and having the courage to pursue meaningful work, regardless of age or timing.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The best advice I would give to young women entering my industry is that if you find a career you genuinely love, it won’t feel like work it will feel like purpose. Passion brings resilience, curiosity, and joy to your journey, and those qualities will carry you through challenges and help you build a meaningful and fulfilling career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field right now is navigating a rebranding launch while maintaining consistency, credibility, and momentum across everything we do. It requires balancing strategic planning with adaptability, ensuring that the transition strengthens the brand while continuing to deliver value and clarity to clients and stakeholders.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are passion, perseverance, and authenticity. After 31 years in aesthetics, my journey has included following my former husband, pursuing my own passion, and ultimately building a career that allows me to both teach and maintain a private practice. I am deeply committed to continuous growth and excellence in my field, which has been reflected in honors such as a Dermascope nomination and recognition from Skin Games. Above all, I value staying true to my purpose and using my experience to educate, inspire, and elevate others in the industry.
