What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to both my passion and my drive for being connected, which has always been a benefit. There has been something so incredibly fulfilling about this company, who runs it, all of the parties that are involved in it, and the way that the culture here has just been very modern in a way. This was my first experience in a startup, in that kind of an industry, in that world set. I definitely think that just my drive for being connected is always a benefit and definitely helps drive, but I definitely think the reinforcement of what that is to this company and this organization helps bolster that. They definitely go hand in hand. When I started here in September 2023, we had 7,000 active customers, and a year and a half past that time, we have surpassed 20,000 active customers and are due to hit our 25,000th one sometime in May. It's great when you believe in what you do and what you provide, and you know that there's nothing nefarious behind it. It is truly that honorable for me to be able to be in a place that good.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never take no for an answer. Sometimes it's easier for somebody to tell you no without taking into consideration your own ideas and your own experience and what you see firsthand. I always say this to every person I know: engineers are smart, they are so beyond intelligent, they put it on paper and it looks perfect, but until that mechanic gets in that seat and starts actually doing the work, it's not always going to be guaranteed until it can be executed. That was one thing my husband, who was in the Air Force stationed out in California in aircraft maintenance, always said. Don't just accept what looks good on paper without considering the real-world execution and your own firsthand experience.
