Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lina

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my upbringing as part of an immigrant family, where I learned the value of hard work, resilience, and perseverance by watching my parents. Being a natural go-getter and starting to work at a young age helped shape my discipline and drive. Through dedication to my education and continuous growth across various healthcare roles, I have remained focused on creating a better future for my family while striving to be a positive role model for my son.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is the importance of sharing knowledge and remaining open to helping others. I’ve learned that success is not only about personal achievement but also about lifting others through mentorship, guidance, and collaboration. Being willing to support and develop others has strengthened my own growth, expanded my perspective, and made my career more meaningful.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

For young women entering the healthcare industry, I encourage them to pursue a career that is driven by a genuine passion for helping others rather than solely by financial considerations. Healthcare is fundamentally a people-centered profession, and success comes from maintaining a strong commitment to patient care, compassion, and service. Regardless of the specific role they choose, keeping patients’ well-being at the center of their work will not only lead to greater professional fulfillment but also enable them to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of those they serve.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life are maintaining a healthy work-life balance, supporting family priorities, and fostering an environment of understanding and flexibility. I believe that success should not come at the expense of personal relationships or important life moments. I greatly value workplaces that recognize the importance of family commitments and provide the flexibility for employees to be present for significant events, such as their children’s activities and milestones. This balance not only strengthens personal well-being but also contributes to greater engagement, productivity, and fulfillment in the workplace.
