Her Story

About Linda

I am passionate about self-development and helping not only myself but others fulfill their life goals and see their vision through. I do this through education, but I'm also an artist, so I do it through music as well. My platform is about empowering people to get to the finish line by first identifying their purpose and the skill sets that they're naturally great at, and then helping them build businesses and platforms around that. I help them gain visibility for it, tap into who they are, believe in their goals and their journey, and ultimately help them get to the finish line. I believe it's very important that you're in alignment with your skill set in terms of the career you decide, because sometimes people are in careers that they're not necessarily aligned with.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't give up. That's the best career advice I've ever received, and it has guided me through my journey in education and entrepreneurship.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say that everyone learns differently, and it really depends on your approach. As an entrepreneur in education, I have the ability to tailor my programs based on what I believe and what I want to see. But the key is trying to find a way to make sure that all your students are getting to the finish line. Listen to them, pay attention to how they receive information, and also be innovative and current with market changes that are happening in your particular field in education. It's about meeting people where they are and adapting to their learning styles.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I'm facing is that a lot of funding got cut for programs for youth and confidence. With my nonprofit arm, I was receiving a lot of funding, but things have changed in that space, so now I'm doing more fundraising. I've also just added a new buyer's persona to my business, focusing on middle managers and executive women, so I'm working on being able to reach those women and make sure they know that my services are available. For me, becoming more visible is a goal so that girls and women know that I exist. That's actually why I decided to apply for this feature, to let people know what I'm doing and increase my visibility.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In my work, I believe that your gifts, your talents, and your skill set should be aligned with your career. Sometimes people are in careers that they're not necessarily aligned with, that are mismatched, so I feel like it's very important that you're in alignment with your skill set in terms of the career you decide. In my personal life, what's important to me is having boundaries and time for me to be with myself, because sometimes when you are a high-functioning individual, you need that time for yourself.
