About Linda
Linda Derry is a digital media activist and community leader from Springfield Gardens, New York. She graduated college with a major in design and a minor in computer science and applies her skills in digital media and coding to environmental advocacy. Her activism began in childhood with planting her first tree at age seven and participating in pageants since age six, leading to ongoing community service in Southeast Queens including beach and park cleanups as a team leader for a local environmental group. She has hosted a public access TV show educating on environmental issues, organized seed distribution events planting over 500 vegetable seeds to combat hunger, led workshops in local parks, and hosted an environmental showcase pageant for young girls. Derry founded Project Educate Earth, a soon-to-be nonprofit, and maintains a photography business while freelancing in design and digital media for community organizations. As Royal International Miss New York Role Model, she placed in the top five worldwide and uses her platform to inspire youth through mentorship and pageants. She advises young women to pursue their passions authentically, integrate their unique qualities, and maintain persistence.
