Linda Green, DNP, MSN, CNS, APRN
Dr. Linda Green, DNP, MSN, CNS, APRN, has dedicated 52 years in Nursing as a clinician, healthcare educator and clinical leader.
Dr. Green's Philosophy is:
"To ethically promote compassionate holistic humanistic healthcare and education."
She has extensive experience in nursing education, mentoring, coaching, counseling students (undergraduate, and graduate), and patient care.
She recently retired from Delgado Community College after shaping the next generation of nursing professionals for over five years as the Coordinator for the Practical Nursing and CNA Programs. In this role, she combined her clinical expertise with strong leadership and program management skills to ensure students were well-prepared for the demands of the healthcare field. Her goal has been to produce Safe and Competent Nurses and Nursing Assistants by maintaining competent, ethical, and compassionate faculty.
On arrival to the New Orleans area (2017) from her hometown of Alexandria, La. Dr. Green worked at University Medical Center in Nursing Education (Level I Trauma Center) where she and a Team developed their Mentorship Program. Her assigned education focus areas were Oncology, Mental Health and the Clinics.
For 21 years Dr. Green served as Adjunct Faculty and Fulltime Faculty at Louisiana College (Louisiana Christian University - BSN/Acellerated BSN Program. Her students completed evening clinicals at Huey P. Long/Rapides General Medical Center/Christus St. Frances Cabrini
For two years Dr. Green served as Associate Chief of Nursing for the CLC at the VAMC located in Pineville Louisiana. The Long Term Care Facility included the Palliative Care Unit, the Alzheimer's Unit, and the Home Visitation Department.
In 2007, Dr. Green retired from the DHH (Lafayette Charity/UMC/Huey P. Long/MH in the State of Louisiana as Director of Nursing at Central Louisiana State Psychiatric Hospital with a total of 31 years in the Charity System.
Having a passion for Oncology, Dr. Green Worked two years for Tulane Cancer Center in Alexandria, Louisiana as a Cancer Research Nurse. She worked with Cancer Patients at Hematology Oncology and Christus St. Frances Cabrini Cancer Center.
Linda earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette complementing her academic knowledge with a focus on intercultural communication, data management, nursing informatics, and evidence-based healthcare practices. Her commitment to professional development is reflected in her long-standing dedication to both student mentorship and patient advocacy, emphasizing the importance of practical skills, critical thinking, and compassionate care.
In addition, during her career she became a Certified Bereavement Counselor which was an asset in caring for Oncology Patients.
Beyond her work in academia, Linda is recognized for her contributions to workplace safety, patient counseling, and community health initiatives. She actively engages in professional organizations and continuously strives to promote excellence in nursing practice. Her approach blends clinical expertise, leadership, and a genuine passion for nurturing future healthcare providers, making her a respected figure in the nursing and academic communities.

In my work I associate my foundation and belief's in Nursing based on Jean Watson - Nursing Theorist 10 Caring Behaviors, Family Values, Ethics, Morals, Competence,
Cultural Competence, Safety, and Patient Advocacy for consistent Access to Healthcare.
Most important consistently surrounding myself with Peers that exhibit Ethical and Moral Behaviors.
