About Linda
I graduated from Central Michigan University in 1982. I started in IT and training, stayed in education, and now I'm back in training and development, developing programs for employees, leadership development, managing platforms, and training facilitators. I work remotely from home for Asahi Kasei, a Japanese conglomerate, for about 7 years now. My passion is helping others succeed through training.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Linda
01What do you attribute your success to?
I get things done. It's the hard work ethic. I care about what I do, and doing a good job. I'm a problem solver. I figure out what needs to be done, and I do it.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Get technical. I met with a female manager back in the early 80s when females were not really in leadership, and she said get technical. So I did, learned how to use computers, and started training other people.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Get certified, or find something you love, that you have passion, that you're passionate about. Find out what drives you and motivates you. And maybe get some certifications in an area that you enjoy.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
We have a lot of demand for the work we do, and we run with lean teams. I'm a team of one, and I manage several training platforms and develop custom content. The challenge is time constraints to get everything done.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, a strong work ethic, valuing other people, and having flexibility.
