Her Story

About Linda

I have been in the software industry for a little over 4 years, currently serving as a Customer Success Manager at Verint. I originally joined Calabrio 4 years ago, and we recently merged with Verint to take on the Verint name. My main areas of expertise are customer retention, account development, and process management. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Loyola University Chicago in 1991, and prior to that, I received an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts from Henry Ford Community College in 1981. Throughout my career, I have been recognized for my achievements, winning the President's Club award twice in the last 4 years and being named Top Customer Success Manager of North America two years ago. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, music and art, visiting museums, and traveling. I recently returned from Stockholm, which was my President's Club trip this year.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Linda

01What do you attribute your success to?

Honestly, it's a natural friendliness that translates into good customer service. And a willingness to learn, to realize that I don't know everything, and to ask questions. So I'm very tenacious when it comes to that.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I would have to say, do what you can with what you have today, because tomorrow there's going to be a whole new set of issues to deal with. This advice came from a manager and really helped me understand that instead of taking things personally or feeling like things are going bad, I should try to get past it as quickly as possible, because there will be something else that turns up tomorrow that I'll have to deal with. You can't let the problems of today weigh you down and stop you from moving forward.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Pick up the phone and call. Do not hide behind email. Do not hide behind text. Pick up the phone and have one-on-one interaction with your customer or contact, whoever it may be, internally or externally.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

AI is definitely the number one challenge in business right now. And then, I guess, finding the right point of contact and managing multiple priorities.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty, confidence, and an openness to learning.
