About Linda
Linda Lu serves as an Executive Assistant at the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island, a nonprofit in New York. In her role, she reviews her executive director's calendar, plans events with other foundations, organizations, and elected officials, and participates in meetings. Her professional background includes years in customer service and healthcare, where she worked with hospital systems and clinics, developing a strong focus on patient experience and genuine connections with others. She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the City University of New York, Baruch College around 2018, supplemented by post-baccalaureate studies and undergraduate credits from multiple institutions. Lu attributes her success to her Christian faith, perseverance, and the ability to learn from every experience. She is actively involved in her community as a member of the steering committee for the New York Women's Foundation, assisting with fundraising for their annual neighborhood dinner, and as a CERT volunteer with NYCEM and NYSUM, supporting events such as backpack and food drives in the Jamaica-Queens area. Her values center on being genuine and honest, maintaining health, and working hard, while she advises women in the workplace to build each other up and nurture their communities.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I'm a Christian, so I give Jesus all the credit. But yeah, just perseverance and my faith is also very important to me. Perseverance, making sure that you learn the lessons from every experience, whether good or bad, and just keep pushing forward.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. (Maya Angelou quote)
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
As a woman, I love other women, but women in the workplace have not always been very nice. Always build each other up, be nice to each other. We're a community and the best at nurturing others. We need to nurture our customers and our coworkers. Just be kind to one another.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges: It feels like there's a lot of people that don't care, which can be exhausting. Opportunities: In turbulent times, there's so much opportunity to help others and serve others, to give back and really touch someone's life.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being genuine, honest. Being healthy, because without health you don't really have anything. Health is wealth. And just working hard.
