Her Story

About Linda

Linda SilvaJones has spent over 35 years in the legal field, including the last 20 years working as a paralegal. She earned her bachelor's degree in telecommunications while beginning her legal career right out of high school and continuing part-time through college. Her experience covers a wide range of areas including real estate, civil litigation, bankruptcy, domestic law, workers' compensation, and personal injury. She currently works at Mint's law firm handling personal injury and workers' compensation cases. SilvaJones credits her success to her strong adaptability and quick learning, as demonstrated when she started as a personal injury paralegal at Mint during COVID with no prior experience or training and taught herself the necessary skills. She advises young women entering the field to be independent self-starters who take ownership of deadlines, communicate proactively with attorneys, and think for themselves without waiting for constant instructions.

Ten minutes with Linda

01What do you attribute your success to?

I adapt very well and catch on quickly. For example, when I first started with Mint as a personal injury paralegal during COVID, there was no one to train me so I had to learn everything myself by diving in and figuring it out quickly.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be an independent worker and self-thinker. Don't wait for instructions all the time. Be on top of deadlines and remind your attorney. Take ownership and be a great self-starter and communicator.
