About Linda
Linda Ann Casey Smock is a retired elementary teacher and children's book author based in Mesa, Arizona. She began her teaching career in 1967, instructing students in grades 1 through 8 with a focus on intermediate grades in the Mesa schools before retiring in 2007. Following her retirement from classroom teaching, she obtained her reading certification and worked as a reading intervention coach and head coach in the Mesa schools for several years. Linda is trained in Orton-Gillingham instruction and has extensive experience supporting students with dyslexia through an after-school program she ran, where she also taught parents strategies to assist their children. She holds a bachelor's degree in education with a minor in psychology from Seton Hall University and a master's degree in adult education from the University of Phoenix. In addition to her education career, Linda is the author of ten children's books in the Ringo Adventure Series featuring talking animals, which she promotes through her website. She attributes her success to creativity and thinking outside the box, values honesty, trustworthiness, loyalty, and punctuality, and continues to tutor students while pursuing her writing.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being creative and thinking outside the box. I always thought of other things, had dreams. I even paint and do crafts. I read constantly to keep my mind going even in my late 70s.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty is the most important thing. Being trustworthy and loyal. Being punctual, being a woman of your word.
