About Lindsay
Lindsay Beechwood serves as Director of Human Resources at NJ Motorsports Park, a racetrack located in Millville, New Jersey, while also overseeing the guest services department. She brings more than 25 years of retail management expertise to her role, having begun her career in retail management across several companies before joining the racetrack seven years ago as a server in the on-site restaurant. She later advanced to retail manager of the pro shop and eventually transitioned into the office, taking on human resources responsibilities that include recruiting, hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, and serving as liaison between management and hourly staff. Beechwood is currently pursuing her SHRM certification and has earned multiple certificates through online training programs offered by SkillPath in partnership with Graceland University. Earlier in her career, she was certified as a medical assistant. She attributes her success to hard work, determination, continuous learning, and a philosophy of leadership rather than management that fosters strong teams. Beechwood places high value on integrity, stressing the importance of being trustworthy and following through on commitments in both her professional and personal life.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Most of my success is attributed to my hard work, determination and continuous learning. I believe in leadership not management. Once you have a strong team behind you to support you can accomplish anything.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. The moment that I did I started seeing things in a new light and all these new paths started opening up to me, and new career opportunities fell into my lap it seemed.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
It's challenging pretty much every day to come into the kind of environment that is ever-changing and not know what you're going to be faced with day to day.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is a huge one. People being able to trust your word and follow through is paramount to me. Those are some core values in my personal life that are definitely used every day in my career.
