Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lindsay
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the incredible female mentors who believed in me and provided the guidance and tools I needed to grow and learn. As a young leader, their belief and the support instilled in me the confidence to take on challenges and the drive to continually expand my skills. I am deeply passionate about lifelong learning and view every experience as an opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. I am not afraid to take risks, challenge myself, and surround myself with those that continue to champion the work I do.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that you’re never going to be the smartest person in the room, and that’s okay. Surround yourself with people who challenge you, learn from their expertise, and use those experiences to grow. Success comes from collaboration, curiosity, and a willingness to keep learning. You can accomplish so much more when you surround yourself with many people that are working in the same direction then trying to do it all on your own.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering this industry to never be afraid to try something new, to approach every opportunity with confidence, and to always believe in themselves. Embrace challenges as growth opportunities, trust your instincts, and know that your skills and perspective are valuable.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges and opportunities in my field are those that educators face each and every day which include securing funding, managing turnover, adapting to rapid technological change, and advancing sustainability. Each requires strategic thinking and adaptability to ensure lasting impact and innovation. At the end of the day our product is our children's future and that is no small feat. It requires strong collaboration with districts that are trying to balance it all in an everchanging world. This also is our greatest opportunity! We get to roll up our sleeves and partner alongside the work our educators do to help support them with the pressures and challenges they face and highlight their successes.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life center on integrity, purpose, and alignment. I strive to ground every decision and action in what I believe, ensuring that my work supports our mission and contributes meaningfully to the goals we are trying to accomplish. I prioritize honesty, accountability, and respect in all interactions, while continuously reflecting on whether my efforts align with my core values and the greater purpose I serve. This approach allows me to stay focused, make intentional choices, and maintain consistency between my professional responsibilities and personal principles.
