About Lindsay

Lindsay Huff, CSPR-PR, CPRC, CCHW, is a dedicated social services and behavioral health professional with more than 12 years of experience leading community health initiatives, recovery support programs, and resource navigation efforts. Her career has been shaped by a commitment to helping individuals and families access meaningful, sustainable support. As a Certified Peer Recovery Coach and Certified Supervisor of Peer Recovery, Lindsay brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work in behavioral health and recovery services.

Currently, Lindsay serves as a Community Outreach Associate with Advanced Recovery Systems, LLC, where she connects individuals with behavioral health services through community outreach, care coordination, and business development. She is also the Founder of Breaking Barriers, providing consultation, training, life coaching, and public speaking focused on reducing stigma and raising awareness within the social services field. In addition, Lindsay serves as Adjunct Faculty with the MHAI Stanley W. DeKemper Training Institute, where she contributes to the development and training of recovery professionals.

Lindsay is passionate about strengthening communities through advocacy, education, and innovative approaches to care. Her areas of expertise include peer recovery support, resource connection, patient advocacy, care coordination, life coaching, training, and community outreach. Through her professional and community involvement, she continues to promote greater access to behavioral health resources while empowering individuals to pursue recovery, growth, and long-term well-being.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to perseverance, situational awareness, and maintaining empathy, even in challenging circumstances. I believe in staying determined, understanding the environment around me, and treating others with compassion.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is that kindness costs nothing, and who you are when no one is watching truly defines your character. I strive to lead with integrity, kindness, and authenticity in everything I do.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to lead with integrity and heart. If you stay true to your values and do what is right, you are in the right place regardless of who recognizes or applauds your efforts.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in our field is the current reimbursement rates for Peer Support services. At the same time, there are significant opportunities to develop innovative, outside-the-box ideas that can help the industry evolve and address emerging needs.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are honesty, integrity, and meaningful conversations. I strive to communicate authentically, act with integrity, and build genuine connections through thoughtful and meaningful dialogue.
