About Lindsay

Lindsay Iverson serves as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and professor at Creighton University College of Nursing, where she directs the adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner program that she herself completed. She entered the field as a nurse practitioner in 2009 and has spent 14 years in academia after earning her bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees, all from Creighton University. In her clinical work, she manages adult patients with acute and critical care illnesses and complex comorbidities. Her academic and research efforts focus on artificial intelligence applications in healthcare education, including the development of AI chatbots and avatars to help students practice difficult conversations, as well as competency-based education and simulation-based learning. Iverson is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator and maintains a dual role overseeing clinical and simulated learning environments. She has been recognized with the Distinguished Educator award at Creighton University, a national teaching excellence award for end-of-life communication training, multiple student-selected teaching awards, and distinguished membership in the National Academies of Practice. She has also led workshops using AI tools for nonprofit healthcare organizations in Omaha to address intimate partner violence.
