Her Story
About Lindsay
Lindsay McDowell is the Director of Customer Sales at Avetta, the leader in intelligent work readiness across global supply chains. In her role, Lindsay leads sales operations across North America and Canada, managing a team of eight Account Managers as they navigate complex negotiations and develop tailored solutions for organizations ranging from global enterprises to emerging businesses. Lindsay's career in SaaS took root in 2011, sparked by an internship at QVC that redirected her path into sales. From there, she started her foundational skillset at a startup in Philadelphia that was later acquired by IBM, an experience Lindsay describes as her true sales education. Along the way, Lindsay built her expertise through Salesforce in NYC, eventually relocating to Dallas during the COVID-19 pandemic that led her into her current role at Avetta. Lindsay’s contributions have been recognized with membership in the President's Club, and she has continued sharpening her craft experience through certifications including a two-time Sandler sales training designation, Winning by Design, the Sales Impact Academy's Managing the Complete Sales Cycle program, and the MEDDICC Value Program. A graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where Lindsay was a member of the National Honor Society and participated in a study abroad program in Australia. Lindsay has carried a spirit of curiosity and discipline into her professional life. She credits much of her drive to her father, a self-made entrepreneur who passed away when she was young; watching him build businesses and relationships instilled in her a lasting sense of grit and determination. That same entrepreneurial mindset now shapes how Lindsay approaches leadership, particularly when mentoring outside of her current role to a younger generation that are learning that success is earned through persistence. Beyond her day-to-day responsibilities, Lindsay dedicates her time to causes close to her heart, including volunteering with the Captain Jason Jones Memorial Foundation. Lindsay believes strongly in consistency as a guiding value, both at work and at home, and applies that same philosophy to her personal life through routines like her regular morning runs. When Lindsay's not leading her team or investing in her community, she can be found traveling with her husband, Mark and two daughters, Karsen and Madison or spending time outdoors with the family's English Springer Spaniel, Presley. Above all, however, Lindsay considers her most important role to be that of a mother.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lindsay
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the entrepreneurial spirit and grit I inherited from my father, who was a self-made entrepreneur. He passed away when I was young, but watching him build companies and cultivate relationships inspired me to develop that same persistence and drive throughout my own career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received is to never try to be the loudest person in the room. Instead, I strive to be an active listener with an open mind, especially in meetings with executives or individuals with diverse skill sets, because that approach allows me to learn far more.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women entering sales to move beyond remote-work habits by prioritizing in-person meetings. Don't be afraid to get on a plane, ask for a lunch or coffee meeting, and build face-to-face relationships — personal interactions create far stronger connections.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
As a manager, one of the biggest challenges I have faced is navigating different personalities in a way that keeps teams motivated, accountable, and focused while balancing business results and employee development.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Consistency is the value most important to me, both professionally and personally. I believe that actions matching words speaks volumes — whether with colleagues, friends, or family. This same principle of 30-day consistency has also helped me build new habits, like my morning runs.
