Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lindsay
01What do you attribute your success to?
For me, every no is a yes. Positivity. Patient. The reason why I love what I do is because I feel that I get to be a nerd. There's not many females in this industry. Learned how to work with men, and all men, especially on my own team. Just learning how to close deals and getting them to have respect for a woman that's in these shoes, and it's quarterbacking everything.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Personally, it's all about getting to know people. Starting there. And then sometimes I feel that especially in the telecom industry, we do have to work harder. Just because men overlook that. I look professional, and I look in the position to present. I'm not here for anything else. I'm literally here to do business, and if you can't take me serious, you know, it's not meant to be. And there are just some situations where you really have to prove yourself and how worthy you are with your confidence in presenting, and your confidence in asking the right questions.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
It's competition. So we all sell Meraki's, Fortinet, internet circuits, and we're just getting cheaper and cheaper. Where we win is 24-7 support, English-speaking, U.S.-based. Little things make a huge difference, like getting on the phone with the customer during an outage instead of just sending a ticket.
