What do you attribute your success to?
I really take it back to how I was raised. I was from a Midwestern farm family, and you know, that could have been very limiting, but I never had anyone put any limits on what I could do or what I could achieve. I was always raised to go after the things that I wanted and to believe that I could achieve them. Your work and dedication do get you places. That foundation of being raised to believe I could accomplish anything, combined with hard work, has been the key to my success.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received was to trust the guidance of mentors and sponsors who encouraged me to pursue new opportunities, including transitioning from the legal side of the industry into business operations, while also helping me develop the confidence to find and use my voice as a leader.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering this industry to focus on building authentic, non-transactional relationships and creating a strong network of people who genuinely support and grow alongside one another over time.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field is continuing to expand digital infrastructure as the backbone of modern life and finding new ways to connect people at scale. At the same time, a key challenge is addressing negative perceptions of the internet, AI, and data centers while ensuring strong stewardship of environmental impact, community relationships, and employee well-being.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in my work and personal life are stewardship—of the environment, finances, communities, and employee well-being—along with a strong work ethic and a belief in the ability to pursue and achieve meaningful goals.
