Lindsey Frank is a transformational guide, educator-turned-entrepreneur, and founder of The Butterfly Within®. Through her mission, Lindsey guides heart-centered changemakers to become Butterfly Effect Catalysts™ – individuals whose inner transformation inspires meaningful ripple effects in the communities they serve.

Her “Caterpillar Self” journey that guided her to where she is today began within the education system. For more than a decade, Lindsey served as a teacher, special educator, and districtwide coach, where she helped develop the Social Emotional Learning Department and supported educators in cultivating environments where children and adults alike could thrive. She also served as President of Educating Mindfully, an international nonprofit dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of educators and their learning communities. During her tenure as president, she led the co-creation of the Mindfulness-Based Learning Framework and Micro-Credential Program, which supported education professionals in bringing mindful practices into their classrooms and communities. She led a strategic cycle of planning, growth, completion, and evolution of the organization. These experiences continue to shape and guide Lindsey’s work today, forming the foundation of how she supports changemakers and communities navigating their own journeys of growth and becoming.

Her “Butterfly Self” journey is continuing to unfold. Alongside her work in education, Lindsey devoted many years to her own personal growth, learning from guides and transformational practices that would eventually shape the philosophy behind The Butterfly Within®. Over time, Lindsey felt a natural expansion beyond roles within educational systems, where the world has now become her classroom. Through The Butterfly Within®, she guides heart-centered changemakers across ages and professions through her signature process, Guided Metamorphosis, supporting people who are ready to step into their next chapter of becoming and unfold their wings to expand their impact.

Through her transformational experiences, coaching, speaking engagements, retreats, and her children’s books that bridge the adult and children’s worlds, she helps people cultivate inner confidence, reconnect with their heart’s purpose, and take aligned action that creates positive butterfly effects in the world. Her forthcoming publications for adults and children continue to explore the deeper journey of becoming and purpose for those choosing to become their full “Butterfly Within”.

She has been recognized for her innovative approaches to supporting systems and individuals, authoring books and resources that empower people of all ages to embrace change, and creating accessible and differentiated avenues for personal growth journeys. Additionally, she created the HEART-Centered Decision-Making Model, a framework designed to help changemakers align their choices with integrity, purpose, and their heart.

Lindsey’s leadership philosophy centers on embodiment, heart-centered action, and cultivating environments where individuals and systems can thrive. She believes that when changemakers cultivate presence, purpose, and possibilities within themselves (with patience), they help open the heart of humanity and inspire more conscious, connected communities—becoming the Butterfly Effect Catalysts™ the world needs.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success first to gratitude, having appreciation for every opportunity, lesson, and relationship along the way. Gratitude keeps me grounded and reminds me that every step of the journey is shaped by the people and experiences that guide us. I also believe success comes from trusting the process of becoming, the courage to keep growing, evolving, and following the quiet call of the heart when it invites us into something greater. Ultimately, my success is rooted in a deep commitment to supporting the heart of humanity by empowering changemakers to discover their purpose and create meaningful butterfly effects in the communities they serve.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I received came from my SCORE business mentors, who would end each session with a simple but powerful question: “What is your next step?” Not the entire plan or the long-term vision, just the next step forward. That question shifted my perspective, reminding me that meaningful change rarely happens all at once. It unfolds one step at a time through small choices made with courage and intention. Much like the butterfly effect, a single aligned step can shift the trajectory of what becomes possible and ripple outward in ways we cannot yet see. That wisdom continues to guide my journey and how I support changemakers in trusting their next step and unfolding their wings toward the impact they are meant to create.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this field is to pause and tune into your heart. Take action that feels aligned, even if it begins with small steps, and trust your intuition along the way. Your voice, perspective, and lived experiences matter, so be willing to share them and allow your path to evolve as you grow. Success rarely happens all at once—it unfolds over time through courage, curiosity, and a willingness to keep becoming. When you follow what feels purposeful and meaningful to you, your impact naturally extends beyond yourself, creating ripple effects in the communities you serve. Give yourself the space to unfold your wings and step fully into the changemaker you are becoming.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in this field right now is the level of uncertainty people are navigating. Rapid technological advancements, including AI, combined with global instability and constant change, can make it difficult for changemakers to trust their own voice and the direction they feel called to take. Fear of failure, pressure to follow conventional paths, and the noise of competing voices often cause people to hesitate or second-guess their inner knowing. In a world moving this quickly, many people struggle to pause long enough to reconnect with their heart before making important decisions.

At the same time, this moment presents an incredible opportunity. More people are asking deeper questions about meaning, purpose, and the kind of impact they want to have in the world. Tools like AI can be powerful when used consciously, but they should amplify human insight rather than replace it. The real opportunity lies in helping people reconnect with their inner compass, trust their voice, and take aligned steps forward. When changemakers pause, listen, and act from heart-centered purpose rather than fear, they not only transform their own lives–they become catalysts for positive ripple effects that our communities and world need.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide both my work and personal life are love, belonging, and personal development. Love reminds me that meaningful change begins with compassion—for ourselves and for others. Belonging reflects my belief that every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and connected within the collective community.

Personal development is the value that keeps me continually learning and evolving. I believe we are always in a process of becoming, and when we invest in our own growth with patience and intention, we expand our capacity to serve others. When love, belonging, and personal growth are nurtured together, people not only discover who they are becoming—they begin creating the kind of ripple effects that strengthen their communities and our shared humanity.
