01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say for young ladies that I always talk about in this space to not be afraid to go into a degree that maybe is a little bit more male-dominated, because I firmly believe that we're breaking spaces, and you are starting to see more women showing up in all of these STEM roles more frequently, and that's really empowering, and also just finding a great mentor in that space. I had a really influential strong woman in this space 20 years ago when I first started. I want to be that for future women. Don't wait to feel like you're an expert to step into opportunities that are finding you. Like, just say yes, figure it out later.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
As a teacher, some of my biggest values is I want to be super authentic and a safe place for my students. It is important as a woman in a tech space to come off as credible. It takes work to make sure that you're competent and you're up to date on all the things that are changing all the time in this space and so a lot of pressure on myself to be knowledgeable and constantly be learning. My family is really important to me.
