Lindsey Lundy is a Senior Engineer at Pratt & Whitney, specializing in structural engineering for Adaptive Engine Programs with a focus on exhaust systems and static hardware. Since joining the company full-time in 2017, she has contributed to all stages of engine development, including concept optimization, detailed design, validation, and fleet support. Lindsey has experience with a variety of engines, including the F100, F119, F135, and Adaptive Engines, and has played a key role in initiatives such as the Engineering Support To Operations (ESTO) program. Her work spans structural analyses of turbine exhaust cases, fuel systems, ducts, liners, and nozzles, covering strength, buckling, vibratory response, and component lifing. A graduate of Penn State University, Lindsey earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Information Sciences and Technology, achieving a 3.59 GPA. She interned at Pratt & Whitney during her junior year and transitioned to a full-time role upon graduation. Lindsey’s professional approach emphasizes technical rigor, thorough start-to-finish analysis, and continuous learning. She is recognized for her dedication, receiving a Pratt & Whitney Eagle Award and contributing to projects nominated for leadership recognition. Beyond her technical expertise, Lindsey is committed to fostering innovation and collaboration within her field. She helped co-lead the monthly Static Structures Discipline Meetings for 5 years to support the broader structural engineering community at Pratt & Whitney. Currently, Lindsey is pursuing an advanced degree while continuing to work full-time.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to be confident in your voice—speak up and ask questions without hesitation. Don’t second-guess yourself, and be open to making mistakes, as they are valuable opportunities for learning. Show genuine curiosity and interest in your work, and embrace feedback as a tool for growth and continuous improvement.
