Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lindsey
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to strong written and oral communication skills and consistent effort. My clients look for someone who shows up every day, is available, and gives consistently thoughtful advice. My phone is on 24-7 and I take that commitment very seriously, including handling crisis communications even on holidays.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Learn grammar and proper writing skills, especially AP-style format, because journalists know the difference between good and bad writing. Also get a good lawyer and a good accountant right from the get-go when forming your company, writing contracts, NDAs, and handling crisis communications.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is getting over the fear of rejection and learning persistence through constant no's and ghosting from media. The biggest opportunity is with AI and ensuring accurate, authentic third-party media endorsements for searchability.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Authenticity is number one because the more authentic a client's story, the better. I also value a strong work ethic and consistency.
