Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lindy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work and a passion for helping others. I've always worked super hard throughout my whole life. I worked full-time in college and held down like 3 jobs, and then I also worked full-time in high school. With enough hard work and effort, you can get anywhere you want to go.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Always cherish every relationship you make. You never know what can turn into a lifelong career friendship or relationship. A lot of that really is saved by the people that you know.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Learn your debits and credits because that is the hardest thing and it carries with you throughout your entire career. Get to know your professors and make those lifelong relationships. Get internships early.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges include the seasonal nature of work with long hours in busy seasons and the 150 college credit requirement for CPA which creates a gateway. Opportunities include helping other people, keeping your brain active with math and formulas, and the flexibility to go into finance, investments or many other areas.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and hard work are most important to me. Having a passion for helping others is really important. With enough hard work and effort you can get anywhere you want to go no matter where you come from.
