Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lisa
01What do you attribute your success to?
Just being able to really focus and learn a product. Knowing the company and product at a core level is really important to make your client successful. Really sitting down and being able to focus and learn the intricacies and how things work, or communicate that to firms that are onboarding.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
My sister-in-law told me to just do it, take the leap, make the change, you never know what's going to happen. Just not being afraid.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Advocate for yourself. If you feel like you're not being heard or recognized or being stifled in your career, don't be afraid to speak up for yourself and truly advocate for yourself. Ask questions like why am I not advancing so you can really learn what you need to do to get to where you want to be.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges are the saturation of how many companies are out there doing something similar, like accounting software. Opportunities to stand out are the people we have here, the team with knowledge, experience, and personality. That's really where Truss stands out, is the people. The CEO is fabulous and a genuine human being.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In work, honesty, integrity, being truthful about yourself, your limitations, and the limitations of the product. Being very truthful and transparent about what you tell people. Personally, it's the same: I want people to be who they are around me, truthful and authentic.
