Lisa Carter
Lisa Carter is a seasoned insurance professional with over 22 years of experience in the industry. She began her career in 2002 as a receptionist at an insurance company, where she quickly developed a foundational knowledge of the business. Early in her career, Lisa moved to Tennessee and gained hands-on experience in commercial trucking insurance, prompting her to obtain her Property and Casualty license. She later expanded her qualifications by earning life and health insurance licenses, building a well-rounded skill set that allows her to serve a wide range of clients effectively.
Since 2006, Lisa has been a dedicated CSR/Agent at Madison Insurance Group, where she has worked across multiple states including Tennessee, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Florida. She specializes in commercial insurance, bonds—including notary, payment performance, and license and permit bonds—and customer service. Nicknamed “the bond girl” for her expertise in handling various bonds, Lisa has helped open new offices and supported clients across diverse industries, from trucking and taxi services to healthcare and construction. Her focus on commercial accounts has made her a trusted resource for businesses navigating the complexities of insurance coverage.
What sets Lisa apart is her commitment to client relationships. She takes pride in guiding business owners through the insurance process, ensuring they have the right coverage and limits for their needs. Even when clients move on from her accounts, Lisa maintains these connections, offering guidance, advice, and support whenever needed. For her, the most rewarding part of the job is knowing she can make a difference by helping people protect their businesses and achieve peace of mind through thoughtful, reliable insurance solutions.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my longevity with the company and my consistent focus on guiding and supporting clients. Building and maintaining long-term relationships, where clients know they can rely on me for help, has been central to my achievements.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
For a young woman entering this industry, I would advise being people-oriented and developing strong interpersonal skills. It’s important to be prepared for challenging interactions and to approach them with professionalism and confidence, as building relationships and navigating complex situations are key to success.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Some of the biggest challenges in my field include competitive pricing pressures, which can limit how much an agent can compete on price, and the demands of maintaining strong client relationships while being consistently available. At the same time, these challenges present opportunities to secure repeat business. Additionally, relocating and building a local professional network can be difficult, but doing so effectively can open doors to new opportunities and growth.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are commitment, service, and making a meaningful impact. Professionally, I am dedicated to my long-term role with the company and take pride in guiding clients to select the insurance coverage that best meets their needs. Personally, I prioritize giving back through volunteering—participating in breast cancer walks and donating blood—because contributing to the well-being of others is deeply fulfilling.
