Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lisa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think I tried to block out what the natural man's doing, and the competitive world that we live in, and I just try to have my business be the best version of me. I mean, it's my name that's on it. So if my customers are happy by the end of a session, and most of my clients do come by word of mouth, which is not usually what this type of business does anymore.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Probably, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell them to find a sense of who you really are... The greatest gift that you can give yourself is to learn to love yourself. And I don't think a lot of women do. They're trying to get love in all the wrong places... I am a really, really spiritual person, so... I really believe in God... And I think he's really proud of people when they're making really good choices... And being a little kinder than the next guy. Cutting people some slack.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Relationships with people, integrity, knowing that at the end of the day I'm a very spiritual person... Kindness is kind of a philosophy in our family, so you can never apologize for being too kind... You might not remember what someone said or what they did, but you're gonna remember how they made you feel... I like to see the good things, the beautiful things, silver linings, the tender.
