Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lisa
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my determination and resilience as a single mother raising my boys during a challenging time. I wanted to show them through my actions that challenges do not have to define our future and that, with hard work, perseverance, and confidence, we can accomplish anything we set our minds to. My journey has taught me to keep moving forward, embrace opportunities, and never allow difficult circumstances to limit what I believe is possible.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to not look behind, but to keep looking forward. I have learned to focus on where I am going rather than dwelling on past challenges or setbacks. That mindset has helped me remain motivated, embrace new opportunities, learn from my experiences, and continue moving forward with confidence and purpose.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the healthcare industry is to not take challenges or setbacks personally. Be willing to try new things, step outside of your comfort zone, and embrace every opportunity to learn and grow. Most importantly, find a mentor or someone who believes in you, supports your potential, and encourages you to keep moving forward. Believe in yourself, remain open to new experiences, and never be afraid to pursue opportunities that can help you grow professionally.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in healthcare right now is the combination of an aging population and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and technology. As the healthcare workforce and patient population evolve, organizations must adapt to changing needs while maintaining quality, efficiency, and personalized care. I believe advancements in AI and technology present tremendous opportunities to streamline processes, improve healthcare operations, support providers, and ultimately enhance the patient experience.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value open communication, trust, and understanding in both my professional and personal life. I believe strong relationships are built through honest communication, mutual respect, and taking the time to understand different perspectives. These values guide how I work with my colleagues, lead my teams, and build meaningful relationships with others.
