Lisa LaPlaca is the owner and principal designer of Lisa LaPlaca Interior Design, based in Santa Barbara, California. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, she has built an accomplished career spanning more than three decades. Lisa’s work encompasses residential, hospitality, senior living, and commercial interior design, reflecting both creative vision and a deep understanding of functional, client-centered spaces.

Throughout her career, Lisa has held leadership roles as a designer, design director, and business owner, successfully managing complex projects while overseeing logistics, sourcing, purchasing, and strategic communications. In addition to her design expertise, she brings strong project management and operational experience, having worked in logistics management, inventory control, and international supplier coordination across multiple industries. Her ability to balance creative design with business strategy has been central to the longevity and growth of her firm.

Beyond her professional work, Lisa is deeply engaged in civic and social causes, serving as an organizer with MoveOn.org for more than 15 years.
