Ten minutes with Lisa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my curiosity and love of learning new things. I feel like I'm a jack-of-all-trades. Knowledge is power. I like staying up to date on new advancements.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to never be afraid to ask questions. It has stayed with me because I believe curiosity is essential to growth—without asking, there’s no way to truly learn, gain clarity, or expand your understanding.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women entering my industry to pursue further education and actively seek relevant certifications to strengthen your expertise and credibility. Equally important is building meaningful professional connections—surrounding yourself with knowledgeable and supportive individuals can provide valuable insights, mentorship, and opportunities for growth. These relationships play a key role in both personal and professional development within the field.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge currently is dealing with imports because of all the tariffs and everything going on. Since we're an international company, the tariffs have become a major issue. On the opportunity side, being an international company means we have the openness to accept vendors in different countries and try to find the best price possible without having less quality. We're still looking for the same quality, but trying to find different vendors who have the best quality and best pricing.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and integrity are the most important values to me in my work and personal life. Those two values guide everything I do, both professionally and personally.
